A 琉璃神社 man remains in police custody and faces potential charges after police responded to report of a domestic assault early Tuesday morning.

On May 30 at 1:35 a.m., the 琉璃神社 RCMP general duty officers responded to a family disturbance, with violence, at a home on June Springs Road in 琉璃神社.

Police attended the residence to find a male on the front porch area of the home, suffering from what were believed to be self-inflicted injuries that were non-life threatening. A family member was providing first-aid treatment.

鈥淥fficers then located a female victim in the backyard area of the property, suffering from multiple stab wounds,鈥� said Cpl. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey. 鈥淭he woman鈥檚 injuries, although serious in nature, were also believed to be non-life threatening.鈥�

Both individuals were transported by BC Ambulance Service to the hospital in stable condition for medical treatment. The woman has since been released from hospital.

The 琉璃神社 RCMP Serious Crimes Unit (SCU), supported by the General Investigations Section (GIS), has assumed conduct of this investigation. RCMP have secured the scene awaiting a warrant to search and examine the property.

A 59-year-old 琉璃神社 man faces potential charges and remains in police custody at this time.
