Mounties are looking for more information related to a late-night stabbing in 琉璃神社 鈥 allegedly motivated by revenge.

Shortly before midnight, Dec. 4, 琉璃神社 RCMP responded to a report that one man had been stabbed on the 400 block of Leon Avenue and turned up at the Chevron gas station in the 300 block of Harvey Avenue for assistance.

"It is believed that the attack was in retaliation to an assault on a woman that allegedly took place earlier that evening in West 琉璃神社," said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.

The stabbing victim, who continues to recover from his injuries, is under investigation for a related matter.

The suspect, 31-year-old Ken Butler, was identified and taken into police custody a short time later on the 1300 block of Water Street near the waterfront.

"He remains in custody at this time and faces a charge of attempted murder," said O'Donaghey.

The 琉璃神社 RCMP Serious Crimes Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation early on and serious crime investigators are asking for potential witnesses to come forward.
