The District Wine Village in Oliver has added a new attraction this winter.
They have installed a synthetic skating rink right in the centre of the village and will be offering free skating starting next week.
Bring the family for outdoor skating, s鈥檓ores, Okanagan VQA wine, craft beer and hot chocolate.
鈥淚t is fun to sit on a patio and enjoy a glass of wine with friends while watching people skating and having fun,鈥 said the District Wine Village on their socials.
The village has already already had some friends test the synthetic surface and they enjoyed skating on it.
Synthetic ice, unlike typical ice is an artificial surface and is not dependent on cold temperatures.
The product they use is CAN-ICE which is a synthetic surface that offers exceptional glide quality.
Skating is free to the public and skate rentals and sharpening are available for $5. No boots or shoes are allowed on the ice.
Here is the skating schedule:
Thursday鈥檚: 3:00 p.m. 鈥 6:00 p.m.
Friday to Sunday: 12 p.m. 鈥 8 p.m.
Monday 鈥 Wednesday | Private group skating bookings available
The rink will be closed from Dec. 25 鈥 28 and Jan. 1 鈥 4.
