Peachland is one of 15 communities in the province that will be rallying for old growth protection.
Hosted locally by the Peachland Watershed Protection Alliance, people are called to gather on Sept. 28 in front of the Peachland Mall IGA.
Taryn Skalbania, director of outreach and organizer with PWPA said, ‘’with these demonstration events happening all over B.C. less than a week before the B.C. Legislature returns to session, demonstrators hope to send MLAs back to Victoria with a strong mandate to do more for old-growth forests.’’
The organization says six areas of old growth are now eligible again for clear-cutting in the area of the Glen Lake fire and BC timber sales and government agents are responsible for promoting the destruction.
The rally will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more by visiting .
