Hundreds of Lumby residents are without power Monday morning.

An outage impacting the village and properties north up to Shuswap Falls and Mabel Lake are impacted.

An estimated 1,620 have been without power since 6:15 a.m.

A BC Hydro crew is on site but power isn't expected to be restored until 1 p.m.

The outage was caused by a crash involving a semi truck with trailer that backed into a power pole on Shuswap Avenue, causing the pole to break.

"No injuries were reported and the driver was served a Motor Vehicle Act violation ticket for reverse when unsafe," said Const. Chris Terleski, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media relations officer.
