A precautionary water quality advisory is on tap for most of Lavington.
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), in conjunction with Interior Health, issued the advisory Tuesday, July 16 until Friday, July 19 at 5 p.m.
"A power outage in this area resulted in a loss of water pressure and increased turbidity to customers in the affected area," the RDNO said. "As a result, the RDNO is issuing a precautionary WQA to affected areas, flushing the water main, and sampling the water main to ensure the continued safety of the water system."
When the water service resumes, properties in the area may experience reduced water pressure, discolouration of the water, and/or air.
Customers are asked to a cold water tap until the water has cleared. An outside tap is preferred.
"The level of service and treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained; however, some customers may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth."
