Julian Napoleon, of Saulteau First Nation, will be in 琉璃神社 on Tuesday, April 19, to speak at a fundraiser for Treaty 8 legal challenges to Site C co-hosted by Sierra Club BC, Raven and the Council of Canadians.

The forum will take place at the Mission Hall, 4409 Lakeshore Rd., 7 p.m.

Napoleon, the son of filmmaker Art Napoleon, grew up immersed in the indigenous food-gathering practices of Treaty 8 First Nations, now threatened by the proposed Site C dam.

As a UBC student in the agriculture program, he is also intimately familiar with Site C鈥檚 threat to Peace River valley farmland, which has the potential of providing fruits and vegetables for one million British Columbians.

琉璃神社 wil be the second stop on Napoleon鈥檚 tour of the Southern Interior, which also includes stops in Vernon, Kamloops and Golden.

Also speaking at the 琉璃神社 event will be Richard Bullock, local orchardist and former chair of the Agricultural Land Commission, and Ana Simeon, Peace River valley campaigner for Sierra Club BC.
