A Shuswap woman with an extensive criminal record is in police custody and facing two new charges in Salmon Arm.
At 1 p.m. on May 31, the Salmon Arm RCMP were actively searching for a stolen Ford F-250 that had fled from police earlier that day. Officers eventually located the truck on Skimikin Lake Road, where they found it had sustained significant damage and been spray painted a different colour than what it's registered as.
Officers arrested a 42-year-old woman and held her for a bail hearing on June 1. Tasha Baumle is now facing charges of one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000, and one count of flight from police.
"Tasha Baumle was denied bail and was remanded until her next court date on June 18," Const. Andrew Hodges said in a June 19 media release.
Baumle remains in custody, with her next appearance scheduled for July 2 at the Salmon Arm Law Courts.
