Revelstoke's Good Way Homes gets investment for new affordable housing

Local Indigenous-led manufacturer will launch second facility to build affordable homes, thanks to support from Vancouver investor

A Revelstoke home manufacturer has received substantial capital from an Indigenous-led investor to produce more affordable housing for the city.

Good Way Homes, owned by CEO Logan Ashley, who identifies as Cree, operates a manufacturing facility in Big Eddy and has yet to decide where to direct a "meaningful" amount of investment from Vancouver-based Raven Indigenous Capital Partners.

Although Good Way isn't disclosing the dollar value of investment received, the support from Raven Capital will help launch construction of a new home-building manufacturing facility in Revelstoke this April, according to chief marketing officer Geoff Henshaw.

"We anticipate this will bring more jobs and more quality and affordable homes to Revelstoke," he told Black Press Media by email.

As of now, Good Way is marketing 560-square-foot homes at its latest development, the Fernwood, for $150,000 a piece. Henshaw said this project could be completed as soon as June.

Good Way, as a "prefab" manufacturer who constructs net-zero-ready homes in a facility, maintains that its practice causes less disruption for communities, ensures a more predictable price, and fosters higher quality assurance for homeowners than by building houses on site.

"Logan selected the brand name Good Way Homes to honour his Indigenous heritage and reflect an approach to building homes that is consistent with Indigenous economics: a focus on sustainability, quality, future generations, and community," Henshaw wrote.

More information about Good Way and this recent investment by Raven Capital is available at .
