A popular fundraiser for the Sicamous Legion is setting sail again this spring.
In an April 3 Facebook post, the legion announced it is raffling off a houseboat vacation thanks to a donation from Sicamous Houseboats.
The boat being offered is a Mirage 54 that sleeps up to 14 people and includes a fireplace, hot tub, waterslide and propane barbecue. Dates for the three-day trip are in the shoulder seasons of May 1 to June 28, or Sept. 5 to Oct. 10.
Tickets for the vacation package, which has a retail value of $3,500, are $5 each and available at the Legion Lounge, which is open Wednesday to Sunday. They can also be purchased online by e-transfer to royalcdn99@gmail.com. The draw will take place at the legion on Sunday, May 19.
All proceeds from the raffle will go to the Poppy Fund, which is solely used to assist veterans. The fundraiser launched last year, with a second boat donated by Twin Anchors, and raised $7,000 for the fund.
