Sicamous RCMP intercepted two thefts of transportation, with one leading to an arrest for breach of conditions.
On May 18, officers recovered a stolen Ford F350 on Weddup Street by the channel, with the vehicle having extensive front end damage. The truck had been 鈥渉astily spray painted鈥 black over its original brown colour, and the ignition had been damaged so it could be started without a key.
The truck, reported stolen in Vernon on May 12, was towed and the owner and ICBC notified.
The following day, May 19, a Tim Hortons employee reported their bicycle had been stolen from outside the restaurant during their shift. The bike was later found outside a motel room in Sicamous.
鈥淧olice knocked on the door of the room and identified a male and female inside,鈥 Sgt. Murray McNeil said in a media release. 鈥淭he male was found to be bound by conditions that prevented him from having contact with the female due to an alleged assault in Vernon on May 9.鈥
The bike was returned to its owner and the male was held in custody for a bail hearing the following day. Jett White of Vernon (no fixed address Vernon) is scheduled to appear in court there on June 6 for breaching conditions.
