Sicamous seniors will benefit from Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie fundraiser held last month.
The Sicamous Tim Hortons participated in the coffee chain’s annual Smile Cookie campaign May 1-7, where 100 per cent of proceeds from every smiling sweet treat is donated to charities across Canada.
In Sicamous, the Eagle Valley Senior Citizens Housing Society (EVSCHS) was the chosen recipient of $2,400.
“It is a community effort and we are so grateful for this gift,” said EVSCHS president Kelly Hesleton.
EVSCHS is also keeping busy with the ongoing seniors’ affordable housing project in partnership with the district.

Hesleton said in addition to the site being approved, the organization has selected an architect to work with and they hope to have shovels in the ground in spring 2024.

“When I added up the numbers of the renovation, we spent approximately $6,000, so these funds will be very helpful!”
