Summerland agritourism association urges letters opposing gravel pit

The Garnet Valley Agri-Tourism Association is urging residents of Summerland to speak out against a planned gravel pit operation in Garnet Valley.

The gravel pit, at 27600 Garnet Valley Rd., recently received provincial approval, despite widespread opposition from the community and the regional district.

A campaign, launched by the agri-tourism association, is urging people to send letters to the province, urging that the decision be reversed.

Those interested in joining the campaign are asked to visit the agri-tourism association鈥檚 website at .

The Garnet Valley Agritourism Association consists of businesses and residents in the Garnet Valley area of Summerland. Members include Garnet Valley Ranch Winery, Solvero Wines, Grape Escape Guest Cottage, Local Motive, Oasis Lavender Farm, and What the Fungus.
