A Summerland entrepreneur making fruit sodas has been named one of BC Business鈥檚 30 Under 30 recipients.
Andrew Warburton, founder of Peak Beverage Co., created the company two years ago to create craft-style, alcohol-free beverages. He said he wanted to create beverages with the same quality and dedication he saw at breweries, wineries, distilleries and cideries.
鈥淭he goal is to produce unique flavours, B.C.-inspired and with no artificial flavours or ingredients,鈥 he said.
His soft drinks include haskap lemonade and apple rhubarb drinks, which he promotes as all-natural premium fruit sodas.
Now 22, Warburton got the idea for the business in 2020, when he graduated from high school.
He learned to create the beverages by trial and error, extensive testing and a lot of research.
Initially, the beverages were produced in his parents鈥 garage, but in August 2024, he found a co-packer in order to keep up with the growing demand. Since that time, he has scaled up production five times in order to meet demands.
Warburton believes the growing popularity of his beverages comes because of changing patterns among consumers.
鈥淭he trend of people consuming less alcohol is helping,鈥 he said. 鈥淧eople are starting to become sober-curious.鈥
The beverages are available at Summerland locations, including Zias Stonehouse Restaurant, Detonate Brewing and Shaughnessy鈥檚 Cove, as well as at Summerland Home Hardware. They are also available at restaurants in the Okanagan Valley, the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island.
