On April 8, Salmon Arm RCMP received a report that a man had dropped his motorbike off for repairs at a place on Mobley Road several months prior, but the mechanic subsequently died and the bike had disappeared.
鈥淭he complainant was reporting that his motorcycle was now parked at a neighbour鈥檚 house,鈥 Const. Andrew Hodges said in an April 20 media release. 鈥淗e was 100 per cent certain it was his motorcycle, and he 鈥榳ould take care of it himself鈥 if police didn鈥檛 retrieve the motorcycle for him.鈥
After getting the VIN of the complainants鈥 bike, officers attended the scene and found the neighbour鈥檚 was the same make and model, but a year older and with a completely different VIN. The neighbour also showed his transfer and vehicle registration papers.
鈥淎lthough still adamant it was his motorcycle, the complainant was advised that the motorcycle was not his, and to leave the neighbours alone,鈥 Hodges added.
