Suspect in weekend robbery of 琉璃神社 Subway shop nabbed

Police say the man fits the description of the robber and he gave a false name to police when arrested.

The RCMP are looking for a female suspect in two bear spray incidents Wednesday morning in downtown 琉璃神社.

A suspect in the robbery of a Subway sandwich shop in 琉璃神社 late Saturday night has been arrested.

On July 2, 2016 at 11:30 pm, the 琉璃神社 RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Subway in the 500-block of Harvey Avenue.

Police said a man entered the shop, produced a knife and demanded money. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

鈥淢oments later officers attended the scene (and) located a man matching the suspect鈥檚 physical description near the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Richter Street,鈥 said Const. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey of the 琉璃神社 RCMP.

鈥淭he man was arrested without incident and money, believed to have been taken from the Subway, was found on his person."

In a news realse issued Monday, there was no mention of a weapon found.

A 39-year-old 琉璃神社 man was held in police custody over the weekend and was to appear in court on Monday.

He faces potential charges of robbery and obstruction of a police officer because he gave a false name.
