A Shuswap teen had a rude awakening after passing out during an alleged break-and-enter attempt.
At just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 6, Chase RCMP responded to a call about a break-and-enter in progress at a residence in Pritchard, where the homeowners said a man was trying to get in the back door.
"When police arrived, they found a teenager passed out on the patio," Const. Sarah Van Wilgenburg said in a media release. "He was roused by police but was too intoxicated to answer basic questions."
The sound sleeper was arrested and taken into custody where he was assessed by BC Ambulance paramedics. However, RCMP described the young person as being "uncooperative, belligerent."
He was released into the care of a guardian the following morning.
