Revelstokians vying to skip the dishes or make a few extra bucks can get ready for Uber Eats to cruise into town as early as this March, its company has confirmed.

"Uber Eats has plans to launch in Revelstoke for the spring," Keerthana Rang, Uber's corporate communications lead for Canada, told Black Press Media by email. "We will reach out when we have news to share."

With spring starting on Thursday, March 20, the popular food ordering and delivery platform could arrive later this month.

David and Jess Bafaro, the owners of L'Italiano Pasta Co., told Black Press Media last Wednesday, March 12, that Uber had been in direct contact with them and other businesses in Revelstoke. They said Uber had indicated intentions to launch food delivery in town by around next Wednesday, March 26, but added the platform may largely target Highway 1-adjacent fast-food joints such as Subway and Pizza Hut.

To date, Uber Eats has launched across the Interior in Vernon, Penticton, Williams Lake, Nelson, 琉璃神社, and most recently Merritt last October.
