The 琉璃神社 man severely burned in a March 22 fire is starting on the road to recovery.

Braden Kapchinsky is being moved from ICU to the burn unit of the hospital, according to a GoFundMe page in his name.

鈥淗e went for his fourth skin graft without major complication and is breathing on his own now,鈥 reads the update. 鈥淭his will continue to be a long road to recovery鈥. Thank you all for the continued support.鈥

Thus far, the has raised $13,455 of its intended $15,000 goal. It had been set up to relieve the burden on his family so they could be with him as he healed.

Kapchinsky was involved in a work place accident at 555 Buckland Ave. that left him in a coma with burns over half his body

According to Cpl. , the preliminary information suggested that the fire started on the upper floor of the three storey building.

Worksafe BC was notified and arrived on scene as well the RCMP Forensic Identification Services and are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
