The RCMP have issued an advisory after a West 琉璃神社 girl reported a man tried to lure her into his vehicle Tuesday morning in Glenrosa.

Police say the girl said she was approached around 8:30 a.m. when the man pulled up beside her and asked if she wanted a ride to school. She said no several times and he was persistent in asking.

According to RCMP spokesman Const. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey, the driver eventually reached across and slightly cracked open the passenger side door of the pick-up truck he was driving and told the girl that she could hop in she wanted to.

Again the girl said no, and fled on foot.

The encounter occurred near the intersection of Gorman Road and Ficke Road.

When she got to school, the youth later reported the incident to school officials who contacted the RCMP.

鈥淭he youth did the absolute right thing, when she told the man 鈥渘o鈥� and fled the area on foot,鈥� says O鈥橠onaghey.

鈥淭he vehicle was not seen again and believed to have departed the area down Gorman Road towards Webber Road.

The man was described to police as caucasian, approximately 45- to 55-years-old with white hair and a  white mustache.

The vehicle he was driving was described as a black four-door pick-up truck鈥攅ither a Ford or Chevrolet鈥攚ith tinted back windows and a  loud exhaust.

Police want to talk to the man and say he should contact the West 琉璃神社 RCMP at 250-768-2880.
