琉璃神社 and area teens will be able to try throwing an axe, participate in a wakeboarding demonstration, find out how to break into show business, meet a celebrity and much more during TeenFest 琉璃神社, Saturday, April 1 at the 琉璃神社 Curling Club.
Designed to showcase a full range of things specifically for teens, TeenFest 琉璃神社 offers teens and their parents an opportunity to explore interests related to health, hobbies and careers. 琉璃神社 is the ninth city to host TeenFest in western Canada.
鈥淭eenfest is an opportunity for teens to explore new interests and connect with old and new friends,鈥 says Ali Berman, founder of TeenFest Canada. 鈥淭eenFest brings together community leaders, employers, and local businesses so teens are able to explore a variety of interests and find out about what options the future holds in a supportive community setting. 琉璃神社 is a vibrant, fast-growing city. It was a natural next step to bring TeenFest here.鈥
TeenFest 琉璃神社 will offer a variety of interactive activities for teens and their families. Axe Monkeys 琉璃神社 will be set up for teens to try the sport of axe throwing. Teens of all ages will be able to experience different driving situations as well as learn about the dangers of driving and texting in the DriveWise Driving Simulator. The Flash and Frame photo booth will be set up with backdrops and pops for fun photos.
A variety of educational institutions including Centre for Arts and Technology, MC College and Okanagan College will be at TeenFest to discuss their program offerings with interested teens.
Actor Madison Smith will be returning to his 琉璃神社 hometown to talk to teens about breaking into the acting business. Smith has played starring and supporting roles on a variety of productions including Psych, Supernatural, When Calls The Heart and Aftermath. Madison will be at TeenFest throughout the day to chat with fans, sign autographs and judge the finalists in the Teen Talent Contest. At 2:30 Madison will give a talk about getting started in show business.
鈥淚 think TeenFest is a fantastic platform for the youth to engage with their communities. I wish there was something like this for my friends and I to attend when we were in high school because I think it would have made a difference to many of my peers,鈥 says Madison Smith.
鈥淭eenFest creates many opportunities and I am proud to be working with them and look forward to answering any questions the teens have about pursuing careers in acting.鈥
