February 14, 2021
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Alexander Roth on February 14, 2021. Alex will be dearly and deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 57 years, Nancy; his son Tim (Jette) Roth, his daughter Susan (Donald) Heinzelmann, and his grandchildren: Bryan (Kayla), Cameron (Serena), Danielle, Kevin (Paige), and Alex as well as his great granddaughter, Sofia.
He is predeceased by his parents, Adam and Barbara and his sister, Trudy Lindner. Alex is survived by his brother Joe (Janet) Roth and family as well as his brother-in-law, Rudi Lindner.
Alex was born in 1943 in Mocheln, Poland. Alex had so many wonderful memories growing up and always talked about how spoiled, cared for, and loved he was as the youngest in the family.
In 1953, the family immigrated to 琉璃神社, B.C. where Alex created and lived a very wonderful and full life. Alex raised his family with Nancy, played and coached soccer, operated Roth Stucco, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Alex was an incredibly generous man who had a way of making everyone he met feel special, heard, and seen.
He strongly believed that it was best to help those in your own community first and he did this time and time again through his volunteering and random acts of kindness. We will always remember his stories and be forever impressed with his wealth of knowledge. He was an excellent Papa to all of his grandkids and we will all miss him dearly.
The family would like to thank everyone for the exceptional care they provided to Alex in his last few years and final days. A special thank you to his cousin, Lambert Schmalz and his son Al, and to Dr. McCauley.
There will be no service by request, but instead, a small family gathering to remember and honour Alex's life.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.valleyviewfuneralhome.com for the Roth family.
