June 3, 1952 - January 4, 2024

In loving memory ~

Candice White passed away peacefully at home in 琉璃神社, BC on January 4, 2024, with family by her side. Candy is survived by her husband, Richard White; children, Stephen White and Tamara White; grandchildren, Weston White and Arrow White; and older brother, Blake Neely. She was predeceased by her younger brother, Blaine Neely, and son, Scott White. Candy was born on June 3, 1952, in South River, Ontario to Beth and Wilbert Neely. The majority of her childhood years were spent in Terrace Bay, Ontario, a small town on the north shore of Lake Superior, where she and her best friend, Antoinette Desaulnier (Drake), kept life interesting. Candy and Richard met at a wedding in 1971 and were married in 1973, over the next 20 years they followed jobs around Ontario, living in Ottawa, Scarborough, Oshawa, and Schomberg while starting a family. Candice worked many jobs over the years, including secretary (fed. gov. and real estate), catering, retail, school volunteer, and Sunday school teacher. During her 10 years in Schomberg, she became well known, making many friends with neighbours, at schools, church, and at athletic and social events. At "The House on the Hill" her back porch meetings, kitchen dances, and margarita events were much enjoyed. In 1992, Candy and the family moved west to 琉璃神社, where she made many more friends. She set up a new porch "office" and spent many relaxed afternoons wining and dining with friends and family. Sadly, several years ago Candy was diagnosed with early-onset dementia, which she valiantly battled without complaint until her passing. Candice remained outgoing and happy, still smiling and laughing every day. Candice will be remembered as a loving, caring and spontaneous wife, mother, and friend. We shall all miss her!

A Celebration of Life will be held in June. In lieu of flowers, please support a children's hospital, food bank, or Alzheimer's research. Condolences, photos, and memories may be sent to the family by visiting her obituary page at www.springfieldfuneralhome.com
