It is with great sadness that we say good bye to our beautiful, passionate, fun and vivacious Mom, Ann Catherine Fleming who passed away January 5th at the age of 79yrs. It is with tears and laughter that we remember her
and her love of hiking, reading, dancing, travelling, wearing lovely colorful clothes, socializing and enjoying her wine with friends!
Ann was born in Edinburgh in 1940 and immigrated to Canada after finishing her teaching degree. After a brief time in New Brunswick and Vancouver, she moved to the Interior where she lived her passion of teaching.
She believed in every one of her students and focused her attention on each of their individual's strengths. As much as she cherished her years of teaching she also loved her summers off; spending much of her time hanging out at 'her' beach reading one of her many books!
After retirement she only got busier, travelling to places like Mexico and Costa Rica and taking regular day trips to explore other communities within BC. She kept busy by volunteering, leading hiking groups, taking fitness classes, and attending theatre productions and other social events. Every Monday morning was spent hiking the "Ridge" followed by a coffee social with her wonderful friends. She also treasured her time spent with her husband Charlie Fleming, her 2 daughters Jenny and Thea, her 4 grandchildren Connor, Anthony, Angela and Brittany and her beloved dog, Shiloh.
Family, Friends and others whose lives have been brightened by our Mom are invited to come and celebrate her life, to reminisce and share.
