Kenneth Charles Leonard
March 16, 1950 - March 25, 2017
It is with the greatest of sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our Uncle Ken at the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç General Hospital following a very brief illness at the age of 67 years. Kenny was surrounded by love with his family at his side. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his nephew, Bradley Leonard Baker, niece, Loretta Jean Baker and her children: James Michael, Brittni-Jean, Nichole Rae and niece, Wendy Leigh Baker. Also by extended family: Paul (Terry) Robinson; as well as aunts, uncles and several cousins who will fondly remember Ken. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Charles Leonard (2002); his mother and best friend, Elsie Nellie Leonard (2014) and by his sister, Margaret Jean Patterson (2015). Kenny was born in Montreal, Quebec - was raised and lived in Calgary for many years. Together with his parents he moved to ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç in 1973 where he has resided ever since. Ken enjoyed his work in tire shops, most recently with Kal Tire until his retirement. Uncle Ken was always the happiest riding the many motorbikes he had throughout his life. He was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Kenny enjoyed golf with his parents from time to time and was committed in his continued association with the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Golf & Country Club where he lunched weekly. Our family wish to extend our sincere appreciation to Ken’s Lakeland coffee Buddies and the many neighbours and acquaintances he routinely kept up with daily not to forget the many four-legged friends he never missed with treats - thank you for this friendship that kept Ken in such positive spirits through the years, especially since the death of his mother whom he missed dearly. Special thanks as well to Dr. Robert Williams and the many caregivers who ensured Ken's comfort in his final days. If you were blessed to have been acquainted with our Uncle Kenny, you already know that his quiet and kind gentle soul will be greatly missed and we trust you will hold dear that part of him always in a very special place in your heart. Gone too soon - we love you Uncle Ken! A private family farewell has taken place and cremation followed. Ken’s cremated remains will be interred with his mother at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Our family warmly welcome all of Kenny’s friends to a Celebration of his Life that we will have at his home in the late spring. For further details, contact bl.baker@shaw.ca.
