November 30, 1923 - June 9, 2022
Halfway through her 98th year, on Thursday, June 9, 2022, Clara Gottselig was called home by the Lord, she went to him peacefully. Left, to carry her legacy of kindness, are her daughters Marion and Susan; her grandchildren Kathryn, Kristine, Julie, Jeff, Terry, Diane, and Kristy; as well as her many great-grandchildren.
She goes to join her husband, Leo; sons Robert and Richard; and her siblings Amil, Elsie, and Helen. Clara lived in 琉璃神社, BC for the past 50 years, and she worked as a telephone operator until her retirement. She loved gardening and playing Scrabble or Bridge, and she especially loved tea time (with cookies). Clara's smile and laughter will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and neighbours.
She was a giving person, always putting others before herself. Very spiritual, Clara believed that eternal life, in heaven, was her destiny; John 3:16 was her favourite verse in the Bible. As Clara loved to share any bounty she had with everyone, we ask, that in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to the Food Bank, cofoodbank.com/donate.
It was Clara's wish not to have a Funeral, and so we will be celebrating her life instead, please join us as we gather on SUNDAY, JUNE 26, 2022, AT 2:00 PM, AT SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 SPRINGFIELD ROAD, KELOWNA, BC. We will honour her life, beautifully lived, with a eulogy at 2:30 pm. And, there will an open mike for those who have a word, a story, or a memory, as we would all love to hear them.
