June 29, 1953 - September 13, 2024

In loving memory ~

Del passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer Thomas Dyrdal and Shirley Iola (nee Rose), and his sister Shirleen Gerlach (nee Dyrdal). He will be missed by his wife Diane Dyrdal (nee Thiel); daughters Shayne Dyrdal (Jared Huber) and Delaine Dyrdal (Bryn Lord); grandsons, Cayden and Keenan Lord; and sister Treacy Dyrdal (K.C. Ellison).

He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on June 29, 1953. He was raised mostly in 琉璃神社, BC, and fulfilled his dream to move back there (in 1989). He met Diane in Calgary and was married Sep. 1, 1979 (for 45 years). He was a dedicated spouse, father and grandpa.

He felt fortunate for his construction career (Construction Managerial Consultant) and oversaw residential, multi-family and condominium developments (30+) right from architectural design, through the building phases, to handoff of the project. There were days he called it his hobby job. He had a great sense of humor, skied, golfed, attended almost all of the girls' sports games, and loved to play the card games 500 and crib.

His was a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to BC Transplant, BC Cancer, or the KGH Foundation.
