MORDEN, DOUGLAS ERNEST

Doug Morden died peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Doug was born in 1933 to Marie and Anzie Morden in High Prairie, AB. Predeceased by brother Ralph, sisters Hazel Wood, Jenny Scrivens, Ruth Savill, Katie Macdonald, Ruby Pratt, he leaves to mourn his daughter Kim, wife Sandra, sister Gladys (Bill) Wiebe, many nieces and nephews.

Doug, Sandra and Kim made their first home in Calgary. In 1968, they moved to Iran where Doug spent seven years in the oil industry. When it became too dangerous to remain, they moved to Scotland where Doug drilled in the North Sea for three years. Returning to 琉璃神社, they lived in Crawford Estates and spent many hours enjoying their horses,

and going on trail rides.

Doug had a beautiful voice and his favorite time was spent around a bon fire playing his guitar and entertaining his friends with songs of John Denver and Merle Haggard.

There will be no funeral at Doug's request. 

A celebration of life will be held in Alberta at a later date.
