December 28, 2020
On December 28, 2020 E. Ann Carviel passed away peacefully at Cottonwoods Extended Care. She was surrounded by the love of her best friend and husband Ross Carviel.
He will miss her dearly and she will also be missed by her brother Keith and his family, and by her dear friend Dorothy Sutherland. Ann's brother Keith says she was a remarkable influence in the life of their family as a young girl.
He described her as thoughtful, kind and patient. She had a great belief in being honest, tolerant, respectful, compassionate and accepted everyone she met regardless of race, color or religion.
Ann cherished learning and excelled academically - she held a variety of elected positions on Student Councils, participated in her High School's production of H.M.S. Pinafore. She was an excellent pianist, completing twelve years of training through the Toronto Conservatory of Music.
She loved and enjoyed family vacations at Lac Le Jeune, Little Shuswap Lake and Eagle Bay. She loved animals and had opened her heart to many pets during her lifetime. Her love of learning eventually led to graduating nursing school - where many patients received her compassion, kindness and care.
Her life continued to evolve when she met Ross and become a stepmother, confidant and cheerleader to her growing family. She also gave back to her community by being involved in the Church Choir, being alongside Ross when he assisted at the Army & Navy, Legion, RCMP Veteran's, Swimming club roles.
Ann and Ross enjoyed spending time together whether volunteering or travelling. Although with Ann's passing they are apart, they are always together forever in spirit - until they meet again.
A service to honour Ann will be held once it is safe to do so.
