Michaud, Flossie May 鈥淔lo鈥
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Flossie May Michaud (n茅e Chrismas), who just celebrated her 95th birthday on December 10, 2016. She passed away at 琉璃神社 General Hospital on January 8, 2017 and was promoted to Glory.
Flo was born December 10, 1921 in Oxbow, Saskatchewan to George and Mary Chrismas. She was the oldest of four children and grew up during the dirty thirties in Sturgeon Creek, Manitoba, working hard on the family farm. When she grew older she worked in a medical clinic for five years, where she quickly discovered her love of people. Flo married Edward Michaud in 1946. Flo and Ed had three daughters, and resided in Prince Rupert.
Flo was a survivor of the largest Alaskan earthquake on March 28, 1964, measuring 9.2. Eventually Flo and her family made their way to 琉璃神社, where for many years she taught Sunday school for the Salvation Army. She loved helping people. She eventually became the assistant manager for the Salvation Army in 琉璃神社, serving there for fourteen years. Flo loved and served her Lord and Saviour in every aspect of her life. Her light shone bright for all who knew her. She has inspired all her family with her example of being a Godly woman, and putting the needs of others first. In her last years the phrase 鈥淚鈥檓 going to fly away鈥 became her motto. The Lord finally gave her wings, and so we will meet again.
Flo is survived by her daughters, Brenda Foisy (Mark), Bonnie Hoffman (Bob), Sharon Close (Dan), grandchildren Laura Boros (Tim), Steve Foisy (Kirsten), Roger Foisy (Bobby), Jenny Fitzpatrick (Colin), Crystal Hoffman (Tony), Michelle Menzyck (Mike), Elizabeth Surrete (Justin), Patricia Close (Scott), Timothy Close; and great grandchildren Caitlyn Nearing, Jamie Lloyd-Smith (Josh), Samaia Foisy, Anika Fitzpatrick, Nathan Fitzpatrick, Liam Schulze, Daniel Menzyck, and Ivy Menzyck. Flo has one surviving sister, Helen Towie. Flo is predeceased by her two older siblings, Doug Chrismas and Bill Chrismas.
A celebration of Flo鈥檚 amazing life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Sun Pointe Village, 700 Rutland Road N., 琉璃神社, BC
