In loving memory ~
It is with saddened hearts that the family of Gary Sternig announces his unexpected passing on April 29th at the age of 82.
Gary is survived by Maggie his wife of 40 years, sons Gregory and Brent Sternig (Chris), daughter Susan Thrasher, son in-law Randy Byford, step sons Doug (Jessica) and Christopher (Michelle) Whidden, and siblings: Joan (Chris) Clarke, Diane (Richard) Smith, Peter (Sylvia) and John (Laurel) Sternig.
He will also be missed by many friends, nieces, nephews and his grandchildren: Aaron, Janna, Jamie, Jenny, Julie, Abby, Ryan, Megan, Madeline, Katie, Callum, Landon, and great grandchildren Aurelia and Alden. Gary was predeceased by his parents Gabe and Stella Sternig, his daughter Cheryl Byford and daughter in-law, Claudia Sternig.
To commemorate his life, a celebration for Gary will be held Thursday May 12, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Four Points Sheraton, 5505 Airport Way, 琉璃神社.
In lieu of flowers the family is grateful for donations to the BC Cancer Foundation.
