Georgia MCALPINE

McAlpine

MCALPINE, Georgia

Georgia McAlpine began her life at Prince George Regional Hospital on October 24, 1997. She ended it far too soon, October 4, 2016 in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç, B.C.

Georgia was the sparkle in her mom’s and dad’s eyes from the moment she was born. With an impish grin and stubbornness that knew no bounds, she was always destined to go her own way. As she grew into a young woman, despite the risks and challenges in speaking up for who she was and what she believed, she vowed to fight for what she knew was right, especially when it came to the lives of women and children.

She was prepared to begin that journey shortly after graduating from ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Secondary School in 2015. Unfortunately, the universe had different things in store for her. After years of struggling with the demons inside her, Georgia tragically lost her battle with mental illness last Tuesday.

Georgia’s memory will be cherished by parents Cam McAlpine and Carlene Dingwall, and her big brother Eli. She will forever be loved by Jenny, Steffi, Anton, Kirsten and by the love of her life Eve Wilk. She will be remembered by so many, but especially her many grandparents – Bruce and Barb McAlpine and Garry and Debbie Hartley of ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç, and Neil and Elaine Rutherfurd of Auckland – all her aunties and uncles – Scott McAlpine and Isabel Kolic, Trudy and Georgina Dingwall, Della and Kelly Gordon, Brent Dingwall and Kim O’Brien, Lila and Charlie Ross and Mary-Anne MacPherson – dozens of cousins, and so many, many more relatives and friends in Prince George, ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç and around the world.

A memorial service and celebration of Georgia’s life will be held on Thursday,

October 13 at 1:00 pm at the Mission Creek Alliance Church 2091 Springfield Rd., ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç, B.C.). All are welcome.

I am sorry this world could not keep you safe,

may your journey home be a soft and peaceful one.
