"The Angel Lady"- Beloved Mom, Mor Mor, Sister and Friend, Gordis passed away peacefully in hospice with her daughter Connie by her side. She spent her last months as she had her many years, with a warm and loving attitude towards her family and close friends. In the end making sure no expression of love went unsaid.
Gordis emigrated to Canada from Denmark in the 50's with her first husband, adopting their daughter and son and raising them in Prince George and Victoria, BC. She always kept close ties with her family in Denmark, sharing the culture, holiday traditions and creating many memorable smorgasbords for friends and family in Canada.
She met and married John William Page in the mid 70's. They lived in Sooke, retiring to White Rock and creating Gordis's dream life of gardening and handwork with her great love John.
Gordis was a seamstress by trade. Her passion for knitting, crocheting, embroidery and beading was lifelong. The treasures she has created have been shared around the globe.
Gordis's welcoming, fun-loving and hardworking nature will forever be admired and sadly missed by her daughter, Connie (Ward) Fraser; grandchildren, Michelle and John Fraser; sister, Conny Andersen; niece, Susan (Jan) Kloe and their children, Kevin and Sara along with numerous extended family both in Canada and Denmark.
Gordis was sadly predeceased by her parents, Anna and Carl Uldum, loving husband John W. Page and her sister Lise.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Gordis's name may do so to the Salvation Army, Hospice House 琉璃神社 and or the 琉璃神社 Women's Shelter.
