PENROSE: Helen May
July 19, 1918 – March 2, 2017
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helen May Penrose at 98years of age on March 2, 2017 in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç, BC, with her loving daughter Roberta and good friend Mel by her side during her last days of her journey. Helen was predeceased by her parents Frank and Ida Penrose and has joined her beloved sister Edna Penrose. Helen leaves to mourn her daughter Roberta Coulombe of Port Alberni; grandson Jordan Coulombe and granddaughter Hayley (Brian) Tassie and their children Kinley and Reegan all of Port Alberni, along with some cousins and wonderful friends in her life. Helen was born in Edmonton Alberta; after she finished her schooling she moved to Calgary where she worked as a nurse’s aide eventually joining her parents and sister in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç in the late sixties working for B.C. Fruit Packers until her retirement in 1984. Helen was a faithful member of the First United Church in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç. She was also a legion member where she spent many happy hours volunteering . Her next passion was watching the sports on TV, she would know all the teams and the players by name. She also enjoyed going to Reno and bus trip to nearby casinos with her sister Edna and friends. A special thank you to David Lloyd Jones for the wonderful care they gave to my mother Helen. We will always cherish her memories, always loved and never forgotten. Helen's Urn will be buried beside her sister Edna at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery. Upon her request there would only be a private service.
