MCGREEVY, Jack

Passed away on September 26, 2016 at the age of 85.  Survived by his sons John (Liana) McGreevy of North Vancouver, Gord (Candace) of 琉璃神社; grandchildren Olivia, Jackson and sister Yvonne (Rick) Wiley of North Vancouver.  Predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy and his older brother Bill. 

Jack was born July 25, 1931 in Winnipeg, MB where he was raised and educated.  As a young man, he played both hockey and golf, his 2 biggest interests that lasted his lifetime and created many lasting friendships along the way. 

He met and married his wife Dorothy in Winnipeg in 1956 and soon after they started their family.

While living in Winnipeg Jack鈥檚 professional career was with Midwest Detroit Diesel, he was transferred to Thunder Bay in 1959 and later to Regina in 1973, where he retired as Vice President of the company.

Shortly after he retired from working in 1991, Jack and his wife Dorothy moved to 琉璃神社, where they happily lived out the remainder of their years.

Jack was very social, friendly and generous, making numerous friends easily鈥�.which lead to him acquiring his nickname 鈥淔riendly鈥濃��.he made countless great friends throughout his lifetime, some of which he was even able to convince to follow him to and also retire in 琉璃神社.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Fernbrae Manor, at 琉璃神社 General Hospital, and at the Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October1, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home Family Centre, 2020 Springfield Road, 琉璃神社, BC.
