April 28, 1933 - March 23, 2020
Passed away March 23 2020 at the age of 86 in 琉璃神社 B.C. Jim was born in Otter B.C. on April 28, 1933.
Survived by his sons; Dale (Deborah) of Sudbury Ontario, Ross (Marla) of Sardis B.C. and daughter Lori (Stacy) of 琉璃神社 B.C. Thirteen grandchildren; Shadd (Anne), Sean (Krystle), Sara (Keith), Eric Shay, Megan (Jordan), Shannon (Phillip), Bobbi-Jo, Conner, Tyrone, Savannah, Katlyn and Evan. Eight great grandchildren; Hunter, Jordan, Abbey, Conner, Breyden, Colby, Madelyn and Aoife. Sister Ellen Worrell and nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years Roberta "Fay" and three sons Bob, Rick and Randy, his parents Ellen and James Monahan and sister Kathy Monahan.
Due to his work as a planerman/millwright, Jim and Fay lived in many places throughout B.C. (Cariboo, Kootenays, Lower Mainland and the Thompson/Okanagan Valley) and a couple locations in Alberta. His dedicated work ethic kept their six children well provided for.
Jim liked the outdoors. Camping and hiking in the summer with the family. He was a perfectionist when it came to his yard and garden. Always having us kids pick up rocks in the spring so he could start the garden work. Pretty sure anytime anyone came over they wouldn't find a single weed in his garden or yard. From weeding to harvesting it had to be just right.
He also was very good with wood. Making furniture, bird houses, wind chimes and toys for the children (and grandchildren).
Not one to waste, he also believed in restoring as much stuff as he could.
Jim was interested in family stories and any projects they were working on. Being with his family and watching the grandchildren and great grandchildren was his enjoyment.
Jim (dad, grampa, great grampa) will be deeply missed by all. He is now with is loving wife and three sons.
LOVE YOU.
Special thanks to all those who took care of him in the last few years. There will be no service by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or B.C. Cancer Foundation.
