GUTHRIE

GUTHRIE, James (Jim)

July 2, 1925  - February 23, 2017

Jim passed away peacefully on February 23, 2017  Born in Regina, Sk. to Walter and Dinah. Jim left us after 6 years at Mountain View Village, 琉璃神社, B.C.  Survived by his wife, Shirley of 69 years, his sisters, Moira Golling and Lillian Cyz as well as many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his brothers, Walter and  Norman and sister Violet Robinson. Jim and Shirley moved to Cloverdale and enjoyed their small farm and spent many happy years there until they retired to 琉璃神社. Their nieces and nephews loved time spent on the farm. The door was always open with much to explore and plenty of food at Shirley鈥檚 table. Jim played baseball, loved camping, country music and raised homing pigeons. He and Shirley curled for many years, garnering many trophies. Though he had a physical handicap, he never let it hold him back. Jim was our favorite uncle and always helped others wherever he was needed. He volunteered at the Gospel Mission, was a great handyman and could fix any lawn mower. Special thanks to the staff at Mountain View and

Dr. Whiting for your care and going the extra mile to keep Jim comfortable. To his niece, Bonnie Willmott and husband Michael for your faithfulness, love and concern over the past years.  Remember Jim by sitting down together and sharing all the wonderful memories our family enjoyed with him. He would really love that.  No service by request. Donations in Jim鈥檚 memory to the SPCA 琉璃神社.

Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services. 250-860-6440
