Lemmon, Julianna -

December 24, 1918 - August 26, 2016 ?

"Nan" passed into Eternity at Hospice House at the age of 97 2/3. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Sharon Rath of 琉璃神社 and Barbara Lemmon of Fernie; (grand) son, Brent MacArthur (Michelle); great grand-children, Claire Julianna and Josh Douglas of 琉璃神社. Predeceased by her husband, Ross Lemmon; daughter, Merla Lemmon, parents and her siblings. Nan was an exemplary woman who demonstrated work ethic from an early age. She had a green thumb and was well known for her spectacular vegetable and flower garden on Knowles Road as well as her years of employment with Discovery Club (a program she and her husband ran through Canadian Mental Health). Nan retired when she was 78 and lived independently right until the last month. Nan was independent and a caregiver to many. Her small family was very important to her. She loved her connection with her daughters and maintained a special bond with her great grand-children which was remarkable. She loved to do special things for them and considered it her delight and her duty as a (great) grandmother. Her unconditional love and support have been unwavering to her family. Her loss leaves a marked hole in our hearts though her legacy lives on. Nan had a sparkle in her eye and often ended up asking passersby about Jesus and telling them about John 3:3 as she would be out weeding or sweeping at the condo complex or had a moment of shared time in passing somewhere (be it a grocery store aisle, a tradesperson coming to provide a service, or a mountie giving her a ride home). As her community of neighbours at Tuscany know, a shortage of coffee cream was a state of emergency and we thank her dear neighbours who stepped up to the challenge when supply was low and who enjoyed her company in the 20 years she lived there. The family wishes to thank the beautiful staff and volunteers at 琉璃神社 Hospice House, paramedics, nursing staff at KGH and doctors for advocating for our sweet Nan in her final days with us. In addition special thanks to her friend Dianne K. There are those who do their jobs and then there are those who go the extra mile - our heartfelt thanks to all who demonstrated kindness and empathy in supporting our lovely lady in her final days. No funeral by request. A private celebration will be held by invitation at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to any charity or person in need. Nan would like that very much. Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services & Crematorium. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting everdenrust.com
