Louis Rampone, son of Camillo and Emma Rampone, passed away peacefully at his home of eight years, Mountain View Village on March 21, 2016. Louis was born in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç on October 11, 1923. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis in 2014, and his brothers Alfred, Ernest and sisters Angelina and Irene. Louis is survived by his children Carol Black (and husband Gordon), Donna McCardell (and husband Gary), Ron Rampone (and wife Sue); grandchildren Ryan McCardell (and wife Shawna), Courtney Ford, Eric
Rampone (and fiancée Alisa McAuliffe), Josh Rampone, step grandsons Nathan Black (and wife Shannon),
Jonathan Black (and wife Jenn); three great grandchildren Elijah and Tristan Ford and Rachel McCardell; six step great grandchildren Amy, Gibson, Erin, Cassidy, Nicole and Garret Black and two sisters; Dora Simoneau (and husband Roger) and Rita Christie; and many nieces and nephews.Louis was the oldest son of a pioneer farming family and developed a strong work ethic during his many years farming. Louis played and coached lacrosse in the early 1950s and was a member of the Capri East Rotary Club.
He was a founding director of the Central Okanagan Foundation. Louis served on many boards relating to the fruit industry but he was happiest at home working in the family orchard and tending to his garden. Louis’ sense of
humour was constant throughout the last years of his life. The family would like to thank the many wonderful caregivers and staff at Mountain View Village. In accordance with Louis’ wishes there will be no service. If desired donations can be made in Louis name to the Central Okanagan Foundation or the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç General Hospital Foundation.
