In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that the family of Peter George Sieben announces the passing of our dear father, grandfather & great grandfather, just shy of his 92nd birthday. Dad was predeceased by his wife Marlene, brother Ken, sister Isabella, as well as parents Alexander and Lydia.
He is survived by his daughters Cindy Sieben, Shelley (Barry) Mehus, Carol (Randy) Werger; son Jim Sieben; grandchildren Craig (Emily) Werger, Lindsay Hepner, Tara (Matthew) Leslie and Sean Hepner; and beloved great-grandchildren Declan, Hattie, Hudson, and Connor.
Dad is also survived by his youngest brother Gerald (Loretta) Sieben of Vancouver as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born and raised in 琉璃神社, Peter experienced what it was like to work hard helping the family through difficult times. As a result, he had a strong work ethic and left school early to provide support for his family by working in Vancouver, and then at Copper Mountain in Princeton.
Peter always treated work as a competitive athletic event, doing the best work he could in the fastest time possible. For decades Peter served 琉璃神社 with his roofing business until he retired. He often reminisced about some of the jobs and the people he encountered. Even though he left school early, his keen mathematical skills enabled him to calculate the size and cost of a roof, in his head.
Dad loved taking us kids fishing but could only take two at a time, as for some reason he thought four would be too many. As Dad's health declined, he still enjoyed a good game of crib and was often the winner. He enjoyed any family time, particularly with his grandchildren, and especially the visits with his four young great-grandchildren. He loved hearing about the mischief they got into, and the sports they were involved in.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on March 25, 2023, at St. Charles Garnier Church, 琉璃神社, with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Arrangements in care of Everden Rust Funeral Services, (250) 860-6440.
