Koenig (nee Boisjoli), Stella Marie
With deep sadness in our hearts, Stella passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on December 28, 2016 at the age of 82 at ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç General Hospital, ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç, BC. She is survived by her loving family, husband of 61 years, Randy Koenig, son Larry (Denise) – Coquitlam, B.C., daughter Yvonne (Karl Madsen) – Winfield, B.C. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, Christopher (Miranda) – Maple Ridge, B.C., Adam (Amanda) – Maple Ridge, B.C., Matt (Amber) – Coquitlam, B.C., Stephanie (Jesse) – Coquitlam, B.C. and 5 great grandchildren – Keegan, Colby, McKenna, Everleigh, and Isla. She is also survived by her sister, Edna (Tony) Duchscherer - Dauphin, Manitoba, and sisters’ in-laws, Adele Boisjoli - Swift Current, SK, Marguerite Boisjolie - Calgary, Alta, and brother in-law, Ed Janis - Gravelbourg, SK. She also has a number of relatives in England, Scotland, and USA.
She was predeceased by her parents – Margaret Robertson from Dundee, Scotland and Moise Boisjoli from Quebec and 4 sisters – Marguerite Rotheisler, Liliane Boisjoli, Irene Newstead/Eberle, Yvonne Janis, and 3 brothers - Roland , David and Gerald Boisjolie and brothers in-law, John Rotheisler, Mel Newstead, Fred Eberle, and niece, Linda Janis.
Stella Marie was born in Gravelbourg, SK on February 27, 1934, number seven in a family of 9 children and graduated from high school in 1952, moving to Oliver, BC, after she graduated. She met the love of her life, Randy Koenig, on March 2, 1953. They got married on August 22, 1955 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Osoyoos. Their 2 children, Larry and Yvonne were born in Oliver, BC. The family moved to ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç in 1970. Stella spent a number of years working part time in the Bank of Nova Scotia and later got a job with the BC Liquor Board. Stella was a long time employee of the BCLDB and retired in 1992. Randy and Stella did a lot of traveling and enjoyed seeing many parts of the world. Grandchildren came along in the 1980’s and Randy and Stella enjoyed having their four grandchildren stay with them for two or three weeks every summer. The grandchildren loved her cooking. As the years went along she enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Prayers will be held at Corpus Christi Parish, 750 N. Rutland Road at 7:30 pm on Friday, December 30th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father Ron Dechant officiating on Saturday, December 31st at 10:00 A.M.
