Letter: Carbon tax will be a problem for many

$2,000 to $2,600 will impact the poor and lower middle class. How could it not?

To the editor:

I take exception to the letter written by Raymond Th茅riault published in the October 12 edition of Capital News headlined Carbon Tax No Problem For Most.

I think his statement should read "Carbon tax will be a problem for most. Most, includes pensioners on a fixed income and low income wage earners. Yes, Mr. Theriault, it will be a problem.

He then says that the tax will range from $2,000 to $2,600, he talks about facts but where he gets this information from is not stated. [Editor's Note: His source, , was referenced in the published letter with a link in the online version.]

He then talks about subsidies for added insulation, solar panels, etc. That's all well and good but for condo owners not feasible.

And, of course $2,000 to $2,600 will impact the poor and lower middle class. How could it not?

He says there are no facts to prove this statement. One does not need facts in this case, all that is needed is common sense.
