Letter: Ghomeshi complainants 'liars, manipulators'

Since the three complainants were such liars and manipulators, their credibility was shattered thus producing no evidence whatsoever.

To the editor:

Re: Letter to the editor from David Mossman, March 30 [Ghomeshi Trial Exposes Systemic Judicial Failure].

Mr. Mossman says that, "based on life experience," he "assumes" Mr. Ghomeshi "did those things to those women." Just because you rescued a woman back in college makes Mr. Ghomeshi guilty? Really?

The basis of our judicial system is "innocent until proven guilty" and that the Crown has to produce credible evidence. Since the three complainants were such liars and manipulators, their credibility was shattered thus producing no evidence whatsoever.

When you are a proven liar about very important things, society has a hard time believing anything you say. We all should have learned that lesson in kindergarten.

Is Mr. Ghomesi guilty? I surely don't know. Neither does Mr. Mossman. But to say that his acquittal was a "systemic judicial failure" is absurd. It is actually a very public success.

Do women (and men) sometimes lie about abuse for personal reasons? It happens every day. I'm just glad Mr. Mossman isn't a judge.
