Letter: ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç city council filled with 'deadbeats'

How…do we seem to always end up with a large majority of deadbeats?

To the editor:

ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç is a beautiful place to live. And, I treasure our Canadian democracy; hence I have to accept all the candidates voters choose.

However, if they choose specific candidates, they must have valid reasons, and/or they listen to the recommendation of a group of businessmen known as  FourChange/ForÁðÁ§ÉñÉç.

How then, do we seem to always end up with a large majority of deadbeats?

I confess I have been an un-elected dead beat for over 30 years. Why? I guess our brilliant voters have the answers, as mentioned above. I sure know the reasons. And, I agree with Thomas Gray, not Walter Gray, who coined the phrase "Ignorance is bliss" in his Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College.

Reading letters in the Wednesday Capital News (October 5, 2016) confirms my assessment: 1. Joellen Broughton’s Who Agreed To Exclusive User-Pay Paddle Club In City-owned Park Property; 2. Michael Neill’s Pandosy Waterfront is Still a Mess of Decrepit Old Houses 20 Years On; and 3. Robert Carruthers’ Secrets of RCMP Investigated.

Thank you Alistair Waters for writing two dynamite articles in the same Capital News edition, supporting my position: 1. High-tech Industry Landmark Hits Design Mishap with Council, and, 2. his editorial column; Is A Strategy Needed To Do The Obvious?
