Letter: More background needed on transit strike

What is the motivator for First Canada to settle the strike? Who can the voters punish if the strike goes on for a long time?

To the editor:

I am concerned about the hardships created by the 琉璃神社/Central Okanagan transit strike. I find it difficult to understand the strike and who is responsible for what actions due to the limited and ineffective reporting by local radio and print news media.

I learned more from a letter to the editor than I ever learned from the article written by the reporter in your paper. Can you encourage more investigative journalism on the part of your reporters?

Examples of what I would like to see covered in a newspaper article on the local transit strike:

First Canada is the 'employer for the transit workers. Why is this?

Who owns First Canada?

Who decided to structure the transit agreement this way?

What is the terms of the agreement between the various levels of government and First Canada?

What is the motivator for First Canada to settle the strike?

Who can the voters punish if the strike goes on for a long time?
