Letter: There are angels

鈥he young lady with the little boy behind me paid for [my groceries] while I stepped out to check if my purse was in the car,

To the editor:

On Saturday morning, March 5, I was grocery shopping at the Safeway store on Bernard Avenue. I had my groceries checked through when I realized I didn't have my purse with me. Unknowingly the young lady with the little boy behind me paid for them while I stepped out to check if my purse was in the car, but to no avail.

Thankfully I had left it behind on my walker at home.

Being an 82-year-old senior with limited mobility, she assisted in getting my groceries in the car. I could not get her name or phone number. She insisted on no reimbursement, just a goodwill gesture.

P.S.: I have been reading your paper since our arrival to 琉璃神社 on July 1, 1971. My kids were carriers! I love my paper!
