Letter: Writer addresses comments to his letter

In the province of British Columbia we are already subjected to a carbon tax.

To the editor:

I'd like to address Mr. Ricketts' letter to the editor: .

In the province of British Columbia we are already subjected to a carbon tax. As a result, these numbers would be demonstrated on our income taxes, provided Mr. Ricketts pays his taxes.

Mr. Ricketts then said condo owners would not be feasible for green initiative subsidies. That statement is actually false. Sustainable development and subsidies are not limited to households. Single family dwellings, townhomes, condos, and even businesses are eligible to become subsidized and retain the ability to become eco friendly and meet with green standardized systems used to track and monitor consumption.

I would suggest Mr. Ricketts explore the a bit further.

In response to Mr. Wilson's letter, the statement that was made [Carbon Tax No Problem for Most letter to the editor, Oct. 12 琉璃神社] was "The numbers demonstrate that per capita, consumption of fuels fell 17 per cent between 2008 and 2012". Nowhere in the entirety of that letter was this attributed solely to carbon taxes.

As for the last couple paragraphs of Mr. Wilson's letter, I'm not really sure what to make of it. I'm not a climatologist and I was not around 900AD, but if my suspicions are correct (and I could be mistaken) that Mr. Wilson does not believe in climate change then I would have better luck arguing with a brick wall.
