James Casorso is hoping to finish off the competitive golf season in style this week at the CCAA national championships in Charlottetown, PEI.
Regardless of the outcome, the fourth-year member of the UBC Okanagan Heat team has already had a 2016 to remember.
On Tuesday, Casorso was named to CCAA golf's all-Canadians 10-member team.
In four PACWEST events this season, the Immaculata grad showed steady improvement, finishing 13th, fourth, and second.
One of the season's highlights was a career-best round of 66鈥攖ied for lowest in the conference this season鈥攁llowing him to capture the silver medal in men's overall competition for the 2016 PACWEST season.
He was also the only golfer in PACWEST to shoot three rounds in the 60s.
Casorso has grown into a leader on the men鈥檚 golf team, seizing the role over the past two years on the fairway and in the clubhouse.
Casorso's work ethic and commitment to getting better is a strong example for his fellow golfers.
Casorso opened the national championship with a 2-under par 70, good for a tie for third and just three shots back of the lead.
The third and final round will go Friday at the Fox Meadow Club.
