Snowboarders from the Apex Freestyle Club returned home with several medals earlier this month, after competing at SilverStar Mountain Resort.

Hosted by BC Snowboard, local athletes found success at the regional event east of Vernon on March 2 and 3.

Breckin Willment and Max Hodges each made it to the podium twice during the weekend, with Stone Shulman and Max Hodges also winning medals for the Apex Freestyle Club.

Josh Shulman, snowboard coach at the club, described the weekend as 鈥渁wesome鈥 and said local athletes combined to win 10 medals.

The snowboarders鈥 success at SilverStar comes with South Okanagan skiers also finding themselves on the podium at regional events.

At the Timber Tour, hosted by both the Apex Mountain Resort and Sun Peaks, freestyle skiers also combined to win 13 medals, including three golds, from Feb. 29 to March 3.
