Four teams from ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç returned home this month with medals from the Ringette B.C. provincial championships.
The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç U14A Rage and ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç U16A Elite each earned gold medals at the B.C. finals, March 3-5 in Surrey.
The Rage went undefeated through the round robin, defeating Vancouver (5-4), Delta (4-3) and Burnaby-New Westminster (5-2), along with tying Coquitlam Moody 7-7.
In the championship game against Coquitlam Moody, team captain Nigella Russell scored at 15 seconds of overtime to send ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç to a 2-1 win.
The Rage will soon hang their B.C. championship banner at Rutland Arena.
The U14A girls are coached by Wayne Wong and Kelley Taylor, while the Team Mama is Lesley Driscoll.
In the U16A final in Surrey, the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Elite defeated Delta 5-3 to win gold.
ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç now advances to the Western Canadian Ringette Championships, March 22 to 25 in Winnipeg.
In the U19A division, the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Heat captured the silver medal. ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç reached the final where they lost a close one, 7-6 to Richmond.
Provincial B finals…
The Westside Ringette Association’s U19 team captured the gold medal last weekend in Coquitlam Ringette B.C. provincial B championship. The Westside squad defeated Prince George 3-2 in overtime in the final. Westside also won the True Sport award for fair play.
The ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç Adrenaline captured the silver medal in the U16B division. The Adrenaline reached the final before losing 7-2 to Houston.
